FAST ATTACK

Warbuggies and Wartraks are the fast support of the Blood Axe army.   They make quick strikes, running up into the enemy lines and firing upon them before ducking back out.

Squadron: The squadron consists of 1 to 3 Warbuggies/Wartraks

Type: Fast, open topped

Weapons: Each vehicle maybe armed with one of the following weapons: twin linked big shoota at+16, twin linked rokkit launcha at +10 points or a skorcha at +8 points.

 

WARBIKE SQUADRON

Warbike Squadrons are a devastating fast unit, able to fight hand to hand or shoot an enemy squad apart.  They fill a variety of fast attack roles on the battlefield.

Squadron: The squadron consists of 3 to 10 Ork warbikes.

Weapons: Two big shootas (note, not twin linked but rolling 6 dice).

Options: Some warbikes are stripped of their big shootas and their riders fight as pure assault troops instead. In this case the warbikes cost 20 points and the riders are armed with sluggas and additional close combat weapons (chains, tire irons etc).

Character: At an additional cost of +22 points one of the bikers may be upgraded to a nob. The Nob may be given any equipment allowed by the Ork armoury with the exception of mega armour.

SPECIAL RULES

Short ranged: The bouncing, rattling progress of Warbikes is not conducive to hitting accurately at long range. Therefore the warbikes’ big shootas are limited to a maximum range of 18". If the warbikes turn at all during their move the number of dice they roll to hit is also halved from 6 to 3.

Hard to hit: As warbikes careen across the battlefield they kick up vast quantities of dust and oily exhaust fumes. This gives them a 5+ saving throw as if they were in cover. Furthermore if an enemy shoots through a unit of warbikes to hit another Ork unit behind it the Ork unit behind counts as in cover too. The warbikes pollution cover has no effect in close combat.

Psycho blastas: In an assault warbikers use their big shootas to blast the enemy at point blank range, breaking through their lines in a storm of shells and shrapnel. This means that Ork warbikes that charge into close combat strike first and make a shooting attack on the enemy (ie 5+ to hit rolling 6 dice each at S5) in the first round instead of fighting normally. Once the warbikes have resolved their shots their opponents may fight back.

 

 

WARTRUKS (35 pts + cost of mob)

Wartruk Mobs are trained to mount and dismount Wartruks fast, helping them get to the enemy lines quickly where they can either assault the enemy or fire upon them.

Mob: The wartruk mob consists of 5-10 Ork boyz at 12 pts each mounted on a wartruk.

Weapons: The boyz have either a shoota or a slugga and axe.

Options: Up to one of the boyz can be armed with a big shoota at +8 pts, a rokkit launcha at +5 pts or a Burna at +6 pts.

Character: One of the boyz may be upgraded to a Nob at an additional cost of +11 points. The nob may have any equipment allowed by the Ork armoury.

SPECIAL RULES

Bailin’ out: Truk boyz have plenty of practise in jumping on and off their truks (and landing on their heads), hence they will only suffer a wound on a D6 roll of 6 instead of a 4, 5, 6 if their truk is destroyed.

 

HELLHOUND

Weapons: The Hellhound is armed with a turret-mounted Inferno cannon and a hull-mounted heavy bolter.

SPECIAL RULES

Inferno Cannon: Such is the ferocity of the Inferno cannon that any squads that suffer casualties from a hit by an Inferno cannon must make an immediate Fall Back move as if they had just failed a Morale test.

Range: template      Strength: 6      AP 4     Heavy 1

Even if the Hellhound moved more than 6" in its turn it may still fire the Inferno Cannon.

 

GUNTRUKS

Guntruks are mobile weapons platforms, able to quickly shift firepower from one part of the battlefield to another.  They are used in a supporting role, able to quickly relocate themselves and aid the Blood Axe assault wherever they are needed.

Type: Fast, open topped

Weapons: A Guntruk is armed with a big gun (choose which type from the big guns entry below)

Options: A Guntruk may be armed with either a big shoota at +8 points or a rokkit launcha at +5 points.

SPECIAL RULES

Move and Fire: Guntruks may move up to 12’ and fire their big gun.

Big Gun: If the big gun rolls a result which would kill a gretchin crew, roll for a glancing hit against the Guntruk instread.
