| Death of Inquisitor Cross Brother Inquisitors, I regret that I must report the death of Inquisitor Mani Cross. He was found murdered on Mars, lying dead on the floor in front of a blank communications terminal. His body was riddled with bolt round wounds, as well as autorifle wounds and burns that are consistent with a plasma pistol. I had a distinct feeling he was trying to send an important message, so I had my datacomp engineer servant attempt to bring up the last message drafted. Unfortunately, it had been erased by someone who knew how to get around the security features of such machines. However, my servant was able to retrieve some of the information contained within the unfinished message. Few words are recoverable, and even fewer are of any note. The words that I felt most important are "Machine God", "false", "alien", "destroy", and "...tan". That last is part of a longer word that apparently was meant to be of import to the reader, but was partially wiped when the message was assaulted by a viral sweeper program. It is apparent to me that a high ranking member of the Adeptus Mechanicus had something to do with Inquisitor Cross's death, and these words are clues to what may be a daunting conspiracy involving that member. There was no attempt made to cover up the scene of the murder, only the information contained in the unsent message. In fact, it almost seems as if the perpetrators of the crime wanted us to know they were responsible. I fear that this is their way of letting us know that they, and anyone else loyal to them, are declaring war on the Inquisition. Indeed, Cross's weapons were defaced and each marked with a triangle-bordered skull motif - the sign representing "interloper" in some circles of the Adeptus Mechanicus. This is something that I believe deserves our full attention. Please send more agents and equipment to Mars. I have a feeling we will be needing them soon.
