The Birth of Slaanesh had released many new destructive entities into the warp. Forever more shale the very fabrics of the warp and those who pass through it be effected by these mutated monstrosities. It is for this reason, and for the glory of the emperor, that we of Crustax IV have deemed it necessary to partake in a trade with the Craft Word Eldar; those that call themselves "The Shadows". The following information was gathered, for the Glory of the Emperor, to assist those who have been assaulted by the new darkness that has overcome the Galaxy, namely the Dark Eldar. This rare and unexpected offer was presented to us by the members of "The Shadows" in exchange for permission to be allowed access to Jeniva II, a small barren planet within our solar system, the purpose of the planet to them in unknown. The interview with the Eldar Leader in on the Data Disc <inserted>.

As Seen on the Data Disk, the Eldar Warriors of "the Shadow" Craft World are slightly darker in appearance then most other Eldar warriors, all with dark hair and eyes., usually brown or black. They tend to be drawn towards shadows, preferring to dwell in the darkness rather then present themselves in the light as any followers of the Emperor would. This is best shown half way through the tape as a shooting star fly’s past emitting a bright light across the room, their distaste for it is extremely visible. Although when they enter shadows, their armor seems to melt itself into the darkness, creating a semi-visible state. Their Armor is mostly black with dark marking such as dark green, purple and other dark decorations over it. These usually take a while to identify due to the dark coloring of the armor. The more powerful troops seem to have gold, bone white and other contrasting colors upon their armor; I was told that this is so their enemies see them as they leap from the shadows. The Eldar who gave us the information seemed to have distinct bright markings, his armor glowing with some form of unknown energy.

The Following is a script of the Interview with the Eldar as shown on the Data Disk.

Eldar: Greetings Human, I am one known as Farseer amongst my people. I have come here today to help you understand the new ones in the Galaxy, the Dark Eldar, so that perhaps your people will be able to stand up to them and not run in fear, for fear is their greatest weapon.

Karl: Hello, I am President Karl, how long have you known these…Dark Eldar?

Eldar: We have known of their presence for decades now……..

Karl: WHAT?!?! And you have let them roam free?

*A power sword silently breaks through the shadow around the table and comes to a halt at President Karl’s neck*

Eldar: Allow me to finish….

*Farseer motions his hand and the sword disappears again*

Eldar: It all began with the great Fall, some of us sensed the imminent danger and fled, few did. Its was not until it started that we made a full scale evacuation, many died. Our craft world was lucky enough to enter the warp and travel far from the danger, behind us was another, they called themselves ‘The new coming Craft World,’ Little did they know. Then it happened. A great ball of energy unlike anything we have ever seen burst out into the universe, we felt it coming towards us in the warp, we attempted to get away from it at impossible speeds but could not. The craft world behind us was effected far worse then we were, by the time it went through them we were much further away. So when it caught up with us its powers was all but spent you see.

What happened to them happened to countless other Craft worlds. My people looked on in horror, a horror unknown to you humans. We saw our brothers mutate, their armor twist and bend into horrendous shapes. What happened to them is hard to explain so that you will understand. The twisted, tainted touch of Chaos Caught up with them and imbedded itself into their very souls. Where once stood Eldar now stood Dark Eldar. The reason of their existance is difficult to imagine but can be explained through their armor, for theirs is not like your basic flak armor. We sense it to be more like our Exarch’s body suit, where the mind becomes one with the armor in ways only an Eldar could understand. Evil deeds and thought of Chaos were captured within their armor, imprisoning their minds and damning them forever more. Even the purest of mind was mutated in this way, to indulge in forbidden pleasures in an orgy of blood and screams.

Dark Eldar battle tactics are also simplistically explained through their armor. You must understand that the manner in which they were ‘warped’ within the warp caused their armor to become a warp entity within itself. It is due to this reason that they understand many of the secrets of the warp and can travel through it almost without fear of danger. They also, much like other warp entities, have a need to remain in the warp or grow weak. If a Dark Eldar remains outside of the warp for too long he/she will die although the armor itself may exist for many years more, this is something I will came to later. It is for this reason that they always return to the warp soon after a battle is completed, sometimes even during a battle if the need is urgent enough. This also seems to bring on a sense of confusion to their victims, so much so that they sometimes kill themselves rather then wait for their return.

We have come to believe that the Dark Eldar exist as a creation purely due to their armor. When they take slaves, the strongest of these, would become victims to the armor and thus Dark Eldar themselves. Some how the armor has degraded its spiritual abilities to take on human hosts such as yourself, we believe this makes up their most basic and untrained troop type. After a battle is fought the Dark Eldar always take any empty suits, the dead hosts are by that time puddles of blood within the suit. We believe this is to repair the suit and give it a new host to mold itself into, this may be a human or an Eldar or sometimes even a trained Dark Eldar child. This is rare as being given the honor of a high ranking suit only goes to a Dark Eldar child which would need to survive years of blood shed and murder with its brothers and sisters, only a few survive that long. Thus is the ways of the Dark Eldar, as we believe it to be. This also creates a problem for your species, one such example I can think of was a certain star many thousands of light years from here. It was a major trading station in the sector and thus had a extremely capable defensive force. The station took on a large cargo of Dark Eldar suits, several hundred in fact and was soon attacked. Its forces managed to turn back the Dark Eldar, by the end of the fighting they possessed several thousand suits. The next day came what we call the Eclipse attack, we believe that the empty suits give out a homing beacon for other Dark Eldar. The Warp seemed to turn against the sector, effectively cutting the system off from warp space. Then a warp entity unlike anything we have witnessed before entered the sector, like a dark cloud, and simply drained away all light. A thick cloud of darkness soon covered the sector. The large spot lights of the planet were the inhabitants only hope, they seemed to scream out hope and rage as anything they shone over was quickly destroyed. These lights were of coarse soon silenced. Only the screams of pain and gun fire penetrated the darkness. By the time the warp storm passed nothing remained of the station or its inhabitants. We believe that the light energy gained by the warp entity was later released in one large burst to destroy the station after the inhabitants were acquired, the creature itself died in the process. It is for this reason that I come to you today, you must tell your species and allies to destroy any form of armor that remains from a Dark Eldar raid, it takes them unimaginable sacrifices to create more.

Karl: Hmmm….. I though u came here to gain access to Jeniva II.

Eldar: Yes, my forces shale be landing within the hour, we wont stay long.

Karl: You mentioned that you yourself were caught up in this thing, what happened?

Eldar: Yes, very perceptive for a human. We were warped too, but only slightly, we were lucky. I can assure you that only a handful were as luck as we were and out of that very few remain today. We suffered effects yes, but not as much as the Dark Eldar did. We too have become one with the warp and suffer from the need to remain in it but we can survive out side of the warp for years as our characteristics remained highly unchanged. We are despised and welcomed by other Eldar, we are an abnormality and yet it is due to this that we know many secrets. For years our Craft World has simply existed within the warp, our people feared that we would be shunned and destroyed, we could never show our presence for too long in any one place. It was during this time that we attempted to study the Dark Eldar, to try to understand more about ourselves, from the information given we cannot say how much is speculation and how much is not. This is why we are the Shadows that make up ‘The Shadow’ Craft World. We spend much time in the shadow of others, waiting and learning, unnoticed until we strike. These conversations have now come to an end, goodbye human.
